Banksy is a pseudo-anonymous British graffiti artist. The son of a photocopier engineer, he trained as a butcher but became involved in graffiti during the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s. Banksy’s artworks are often-satirical pieces, striking and humorous images occasionally combined with slogans on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics. Banksy’s street art combines graffiti writing with a distinctive stenciling technique, often compared to Blek le Rat.
