ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tadanori Yokoo (b.1936) is a graphic designer and painter. Yokoo embraced a pop art aesthetic in Japan during the 1960s, designing posters, books covers, and illustrations for corporations, and attracted a lot of attention producing posters for Japanese playwrights Shuji Terayama and Juro Kara. During the 70's Yokoo, influenced by mysticism, created posters with imagery reflecting drag, psychedelic and counter culture.
