ABOUT THE ARTIST
Yasumasa Yonehara, (b.1959) is a magazine editor, photographer, and a creative director. Through the magazines he edited, he became one of the leading influencers of the underground girls’ cultures in Tokyo. Yonehara is well known for his unique style of painting the bangs (or fringe) of his models’ photos, on his fusion of canvas, archival, pigment print, drawing, and collage work.
