ABOUT THE ARTIST

Guy Dessapt (b.1938) initially painted the streets or parks in New York as well as cities and countryside in Europe, which later became his trademark. His works evoke nostalgic feeling for Belle Epoque, the technique of pointillism he has developed creates a rich texture and brilliant sense of color. Sometimes his paintings are compared figuratively to sparkling jewel boxes.
