ABOUT THE ARTIST
Chen Yu’s (b.1965) paintings derive from poetic feeling and expressions. As poetry is the essence of literature, her abstract paintings use simple expressions to present a complicated yet beautiful object and the scenario. Some of her works reminisce the essence of nature seen in the paintings by the late American painter, Georgia O'Keefe. However, Yu uses Chinese spiritual expression and Western color interpretation to present the semi-abstract flower inspired paintings.
