ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sophie Costa’s (b.1967) approach to the world is sensory, visual, and graphic. Inspired by pop art, she revisits everyday materials. Costa works along two axes: coatings, textures, and structures that she claws, and collages made of cardboard and newspapers where objects are added. Her paintings are a pictorial expression of emotions, feelings, reflections, or observations on the environment and the world. Through her work, the artist questions or positions herself.
